How Bobcats moved from Google Sheets to a real stats platform
A flag football club from Prague tracked results, player stats, and season trends in spreadsheets. With GameStatiq they moved to live match scoring, a public fan page, and coach analytics — all in one platform.

01 · Problem
Excel is a good servant, bad stat tracker
Before GameStatiq, Bobcats tracked matches the same way most amateur clubs do: a pair of spreadsheets per game. After the match, the coach would copy results into a season summary — sometimes from memory, sometimes from video, sometimes from the teammate standing on the sideline.
The outcome: stats existed, but nobody used them. Player stats weren't public. Fans saw the score but not the context. Coaches didn't have a quick view of who was producing in which formation. Comparing performance across seasons meant opening four spreadsheets side by side.
- Schema drift: the Women's spreadsheet diverged from the Men's structure over time.
- No public page: parents and fans had nowhere to go for live results.
- No real-time tracking: everything was copied after the game, often with mistakes.
- Hard to compare: how do you measure a player's progress across seasons when data is in different files?
02 · What they needed
One platform for the whole club
Bobcats weren't looking for an enterprise sport-tech solution with per-player licensing. They needed something the team would actually use — a coach with a phone on the sideline, a stats person with a laptop, fans with a single URL.
Three priorities:
- 1Mobile scoring on the sideline — no post-game data entry. What happened is in the system.
- 2Public club page — parents, sponsors, fans get one URL for everything.
- 3Coach analytics — who scores against which opponent, in which part of the game, in which setup.
